While fall is settling in faster than we may think, there’s still time to get in one quick cool weather knit! Fractal Danger is a perfect last minute project to make sure you have a cute little scarf for fall. This design is by a shop favorite, Martina Behm, uses one skein of fingering weight yarn, and is knit on size 4 needles. All of these things, we think, makes it the perfect project for a quick fall knit.
We have several different yarns in the shop that would look beautiful knit up in this project, but our personal pick for this yarn is Ella Rae Lace Merino. This luscious yarn is 100% Merino wool and each skein has 460 yards. While the project only calls for 400-430 yards of a fingering weight yarn, the shop staff would be happy to help you figure out how to add repeats to this pattern in order to make it slightly bigger and utilize your whole skein of yarn.
For the month of September, our stock of Ella Rae Lace Merino will be 20% off!
Be sure to stop by the shop and talk to us about picking your yarn for this project and getting started today. As always, we are here to help!
Our special this week is on the Dream in Color Clubs! We still have three different club colors and patterns in stock. While these clubs do have specific patterns to go with the yarn, you are always welcome to use the yarn for another pattern!
We have one of these grey and green kits left in stock. While the pattern that is included with the yarn makes a brioche cowl, it would look great for any other two colored cowl, a hat and glove combo, or some boot toppers!
We also have this club in stock. The pattern included is for a cute Fall hat, but would also look amazing as a lacy shawl to keep you warm on chilly Fall evenings.
Lastly, we have this cute denim inspired color way in stock. The pattern included is for a kerchief and fingerless gloves. This yarn has cashmere in it, so it would make an extra special holiday gift!
Stop in this week (8.22 – 8.26) and mention the Web Special to take advantage of 20% off on this amazing yarn!
After blistering hot temperatures for the last few weeks, things have taken a turn and it has us thinking about Fall. Luckily, we just received our Fall issues of Interweave Knits and Knitscene! These magazines have the perfect patterns to get you ready for some serious cold…especially nice, cozy sweaters!
Sometimes, it can be hard to visualize how a pattern can come together just by looking at it in a book, so we have some suggestions on how you can make some of our favorite patterns come to life! Chunkier yarn is definitely “in” for the Fall season, and we have several different yarns to make these projects with.
The Goldsmobile Top is featured in the Fall issue of Interweave Knits. This top is knit in a chunky weight yarn and on size 10 needles. This top is surely to be a fast knit and would look great over your favorite long sleeve shirt!
The Fleet Cardigan is featured in the Fall edition of Knitscene. This cute cardigan will keep you cozy at the office or the pumpkin patch. It is knit with an Aran weight yarn on size 8 needles.
Last, but not least, is my personal favorite for Fall, the Hills Cardigan that is featured in Knitscene. This cardigan has an interesting rib design on the back which gives it a fancy look without being difficult. This cardigan is knit with a worsted or light chunky weight yarn on size 8 needles. The Hills Cardigan would look amazing over your favorite dress or pair of jeans!
Sublime Lola, Ella Rae Classic Superwash Chunky, Ella Rae Kamelsoft, and Hayfield Chunky Tweed would all be wonderful choices to knit these tops with. Stop by the shop today to pick up your Fall magazines, decide on the color for your top, and get a jump start on Fall weather!
We are gearing up to celebrate Wythe Yarn’s third anniversary September 15 & 16! In true Wythe Yarn style, we are celebrating with custom dyed gradient kits from our friends at Done Roving! There are two different gradient options for you to choose from: a gradient cake and a gradient kit. Orders will be placed next Thursday, so contact the shop today to place your order!
The sample above is the mini gradient kit option knit into the Myndie pattern by Ambah O’Brien. For this kit, I chose to make the large sized shawl and had plenty of yarn left over. You could easily modify it to make it larger and use up all of your kit. This pattern is the perfect way to show off this beautiful gradient! These kits are $46.99 each and have 600 yards of fingering weight yarn.
The sample above was done with the gradient cake option and is the Sedona Tracks pattern by Suzanne Nielsen. This cowl is a Möbius; if you have not learned how to do this unique style of knitting, this would be a great time to learn! These kits are $30.99 each and have 480 yards of fingering weight yarn.
Don’t forget to stop by or call the shop today to place your orders! The yarn should arrive on or before our event (September 15 & 16).
